Amicon Ultra UFC901024 Centrifugal Filter 15 mL Ultracel 10K Pack of 24 Filters
Amicon Ultra-15 Centrifugal Filter Unit – 10 kDa MWCO (15 mL, Ultracel)
The Amicon Ultra-15 (UFC901024) is a high-performance centrifugal filter unit engineered for the rapid concentration, desalting, and purification of proteins, antibodies, and nucleic acids. Featuring the proprietary Ultracel™ regenerated cellulose membrane with a 10,000 Nominal Molecular Weight Limit (NMWL), these units provide superior sample recovery (typically >90%) and prevent the non-specific binding of precious biological analytes. The unique vertical membrane design minimizes solute polarization and fouling, allowing for ultra-fast spin times—as short as 10 to 15 minutes—and achieving concentration factors of 80x to 100x. Designed to fit standard 50 mL conical tubes, it is a staple for molecular biology, proteomics, and clinical research.
Technical Performance and Design
Vertical Membrane Technology: The dual vertical membrane panels provide a large surface area for fast processing while reducing "concentration polarization" (fouling), ensuring high flow rates even with complex samples like cell lysates or serum.
Ultracel™ Regenerated Cellulose: This premium membrane material offers low protein binding and high chemical resistance, making it ideal for the recovery of dilute proteins and sensitive biomolecules.
Integrated Dead-Stop: Features a physical "dead-stop" in the filter device to prevent spinning the sample to dryness, ensuring the concentrate is always easily recoverable in the 200 µL retentate pocket.
Dual Rotor Compatibility: Engineered for use in both swinging-bucket rotors (max 4,000 x g) and fixed-angle rotors (max 5,000 x g), providing flexibility for diverse laboratory centrifuges.

Key Benefits & Applications
Protein Concentration: Rapidly concentrates dilute protein solutions from column eluents or tissue culture extracts with minimal sample loss.
Desalting and Buffer Exchange: An efficient alternative to dialysis for the removal of salts, urea, and small molecules or for switching samples into a compatible storage buffer.
IVD Diagnostic Use: CE-marked for clinical applications, such as concentrating serum, urine, or cerebrospinal fluid prior to electrophoresis or Bence Jones protein analysis.
Direct Pipette Access: The retentate reservoir is designed for easy, direct access with a standard pipette tip, eliminating the need for a secondary "reverse-spin" step to recover the sample.
