Invitrogen iBlot Western Detection Stacks Mini Pack of 10 Kits
Invitrogen IB7010-02 iBlot Western Detection Stacks – Mini, 10 Pack
The Invitrogen IB7010-02 is a set of consumable detection stacks designed exclusively for use with the iBlot Gel Transfer Device. Unlike standard transfer stacks used to move proteins from a gel to a membrane, these engineered western detection stacks utilize the iBlot device to perform rapid, electrophoretically driven immunodetection. By applying an electric field, the system actively drives charged primary and secondary antibodies directly into a nitrocellulose or PVDF membrane. This replaces standard passive diffusion incubation steps, reducing the time required for antibody-antigen binding from several hours down to approximately three minutes.
Technical Performance and Design
-
Electrophoretic Antibody Delivery: Uses a precisely controlled electric field to push negatively charged antibodies toward the protein-bound membrane, significantly accelerating binding kinetics compared to traditional rocking incubation.
-
Solid-State Gel Matrix: The top and bottom stacks contain integrated copper anodes/cathodes and a proprietary gel matrix that acts as an ion reservoir, maintaining the required pH and conductivity without liquid buffers.
-
Universal Membrane Compatibility: Can be used to process both nitrocellulose and PVDF membranes, regardless of whether the initial protein transfer was performed via wet tank, semi-dry, or iBlot dry blotting methods.
-
Mini Format Dimensions: Sized at 8 x 8 cm to accommodate standard mini-gel membrane footprints, minimizing reagent waste compared to using regular-sized stacks.

Key Benefits & Applications
-
Rapid Western Blotting: Drastically cuts down total western blot processing time by eliminating the standard 1-to-2 hour passive incubation steps for primary and secondary antibodies.
-
Buffer-Free Workflow: Eliminates the need to prepare, measure, or dispose of large volumes of running buffers, blocking solutions, or liquid antibody diluents during the primary binding phase.
-
High-Throughput Assays: Allows laboratories to process multiple membranes sequentially in a fraction of the time, increasing overall daily assay throughput.
-
Chromogenic and Chemiluminescent Ready: Prepares the membrane for immediate downstream signal development using standard alkaline phosphatase (AP) or horseradish peroxidase (HRP) chemistries.
