Millipore Microplate MultiScreen 96 Well 1.2 um PVDF Pack of 10 Filter Plates
Millipore MABVN1210 MultiScreen Filter Plate – 96-Well, 1.2 µm PVDF
The Millipore MABVN1210 is a MultiScreen-BV 96-well filter plate designed for high-throughput sample clarification and the automated washing of bead-based assays. Each well is fitted with a 1.2 µm hydrophilic polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane. This microporous Durapore membrane provides fast liquid flow rates and exhibits extremely low non-specific protein binding, ensuring maximum recovery of targeted analytes. The rigid plate architecture is optimized for use with standard 96-well vacuum manifolds, enabling rapid liquid evacuation while physically retaining suspended microparticles, such as Luminex polystyrene beads, directly on the membrane surface.
Technical Performance and Design
Hydrophilic PVDF Membrane: The 1.2 µm Durapore membrane does not require pre-wetting with organic solvents, allowing for the direct loading and immediate filtration of aqueous biological samples and wash buffers.
Low Protein Binding: The PVDF polymer structure actively limits the unspecific adsorption of antibodies and soluble proteins, a critical requirement for maintaining high signal-to-noise ratios in quantitative immunoassays.
Microparticle Retention: The 1.2 µm pore diameter is precisely calibrated to block the passage of standard 5.5 µm assay beads, allowing technicians to aggressively wash away sample matrix interferences without losing the solid-phase capture beads.
Manifold and Automation Ready: The robust polystyrene skirt and standardized SBS footprint ensure seamless integration with automated liquid handlers, swinging-bucket centrifuges, and standalone vacuum manifolds.

Key Benefits & Applications
Multiplex Bead Assays: The industry-standard filtration plate for running Luminex xMAP, LABScreen, and other microsphere-based suspension arrays, facilitating simultaneous buffer washing across all 96 wells.
High-Throughput Clarification: Effectively removes cellular debris, protein aggregates, and dense particulate matter from complex biological fluids like serum and plasma prior to liquid chromatography or mass spectrometry.
Streamlined Processing: By processing 96 samples in parallel via vacuum filtration, laboratories entirely bypass the tedious, error-prone cycle of pelleting and aspirating individual microcentrifuge tubes.
Reproducible Flow: The consistent pore distribution ensures uniform well-to-well evacuation times, preventing sample cross-talk or localized well drying during automated extraction steps.
