The Contour Glass 186-420540-0550 Chromatography Column is a large, high-quality glass column designed for preparative-scale liquid chromatography, purification, and separation tasks in chemical and biochemical laboratories. The column includes a Fritted Disc (or sintered glass disc) sealed into the bottom. This porous glass disc supports the packed stationary phase material, preventing it from washing out of the column while allowing the liquid mobile phase to pass freely. A PTFE stopcock is preferred over a glass one because it offers superior chemical resistance and does not require grease, eliminating a source of potential contamination.
