Corning Erlenmeyer Flask with Diptube and Accessories 250 ml Case of 4 Flasks
The Corning (Catalog Number 11415) 250 mL Erlenmeyer Flask is a specialized "Closed System" vessel designed for aseptic liquid handling in cell culture applications. Unlike standard Erlenmeyer flasks, this unit comes pre-assembled with an Aseptic Transfer Cap, allowing you to add or remove media without ever opening the flask and exposing the culture to the environment.
Key Specifications:
Volume: 250 mL (with molded-in graduations).
Material: Optically clear polycarbonate (USP Class VI), which is non-pyrogenic and sterile.
Aseptic Cap Assembly:
Dip Tube: A rigid polypropylene tube reaching the very bottom of the flask for complete liquid retrieval.
Vent: A 0.2 µm hydrophobic filter allows for continuous gas exchange (breathing) while blocking contaminants.
Tubing: 1/8" ID (approx. 3.2 mm) C-Flex® tubing, which is chemically resistant and heat-sealable.
Connector: Terminates in a Male Luer Lock (MLL), making it compatible with standard syringes or luer-equipped peristaltic pump lines.
Typical Application: This flask is used primarily for shaker cultures where sterility is paramount. The closed system allows you to pump feed in or sample out (via the dip tube) while the flask remains on the shaker, significantly reducing the risk of contamination compared to open-pour methods.
Expiration: 2024-08.
