Broadley James Fermprobe pH Probe for 3L - 7L Vessel 200 mm
The Broadley James (Model F-635-B200-DH) FermProbe® pH Electrode is a low-maintenance, sealed sensor designed specifically for use in benchtop bioreactors and fermentors. Unlike liquid-filled probes that require pressurization and regular electrolyte refilling, this Gel-Filled model is pre-pressurized and sealed. This design makes it exceptionally user-friendly for academic and R&D labs, as it eliminates the need for external pressure housings or maintenance of electrolyte levels during long cultivation runs.
This specific unit features a 200 mm insertion length (standard 12 mm diameter), which is the precise dimension required for top-entry installation in 3 Liter to 7 Liter glass vessels (common in Applikon®, NBS/Eppendorf, and Sartorius systems). The "DH" designation typically indicates a Double Junction reference system with a high-performance gel. This dual-junction design is critical in bioprocessing as it provides an extra barrier against reference poisoning from proteins or sulfides in the culture media, ensuring drift-free measurement over days or weeks.
The probe is equipped with a standard S8 (Pg 13.5) Metric Cap connector. This allows it to screw directly into standard bioreactor headplate fittings or housings. The entire sensor is constructed to withstand repeated autoclave cycles (up to 135°C), ensuring sterility without compromising the gel's integrity.
