Curiox Laminar Wash 96-Well Microplate – Sterile, with Regular Lid, Individually Sealed (MPN: 96-DC-CL-05)

The Curiox 96-DC-CL-05 (also written as 96DCCL05) is a highly specialized, state-of-the-art microplate engineered exclusively for use with Curiox Laminar Wash™ systems (including the HT2000, HT2100, and automated AUTO 1000 systems). Designed for centrifuge-free suspension cell washing during flow cytometry, mass cytometry, and single-cell sequencing sample preparation, this plate features a revolutionary "wall-less" design. Instead of physical plastic walls, each of the 96 wells consists of a precision-engineered hydrophilic spot surrounded by an intensely hydrophobic border grid. This layout allows individual sample droplets (up to 75 µL) to be held securely in place by surface tension alone while a dual-nozzle fluidics system gently sweeps wash buffer across the cells, maximizing cell retention without the mechanical forces of pelleting.

Technical Performance and Design

  • Centrifuge-Free Laminar Flow Fluidics: Eliminates traditional cell pelleting, aspirating, and flicking steps. Two dedicated nozzles descend onto each side of every spot—one to dispense wash buffer and the other to simultaneously aspirate supernatant and debris away under a low-shear fluid dynamic matrix.

  • Proprietary Hydrophobic Isolation: The surface chemistry between the 96 hydrophilic spots acts as an absolute physical barrier to fluid movement, ensuring zero cross-well contamination or cross-talk between sample droplets during automated washing cycles.

  • Maximized Cell Retention & Viability: By removing harsh high-g centrifugation stresses, the plate preserves delicate cell surface markers and fragile primary cell populations. It delivers up to a two-fold increase in retention for rare cells (such as tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes or primary T cells) compared to classical centrifuge methods.

  • Low-Profile Automation Footprint: Conforms to standard microplate dimensions (124 mm × 82 mm × 12 mm) for direct integration with robotic gripper arms, automated liquid handlers, and biosafety hood workflows.

Key Benefits & Applications

  • Flow Cytometry & Cytometry Sample Prep: The industry baseline standard for running rapid, multi-color antibody staining washes, achieving a higher stain index and cleaner population resolution by removing unbound dyes effortlessly.

  • Single-Cell Sequencing (scRNA-seq): Drastically compresses background noise, unattached oligonucleotides, and ambient cellular debris before cell routing, safeguarding expensive downstream sequencing runs.

  • Drastic Workflow Compression: Enables full processing and washing of an entire 96-well plate in roughly 3 to 4 minutes, saving up to 70% to 90% in total hands-on sample preparation time.

  • Fluidic System Safety: The ultra-gentle washing mechanism prevents cell lysing and clumping, drastically minimizing the incidence of downstream clogging inside delicate cytometer flow cells.
