The Bio-Rad 1704449 is a high-throughput analytical comb designed for the Sub-Cell GT and Wide Mini-Sub Cell GT horizontal electrophoresis systems. While standard combs for these systems often have 15 or 20 wells, the 30-tooth version is specifically used to maximize sample capacity on a single gel. The 1.5 mm thickness provides roughly 50% more volume capacity than a 1.0 mm comb, which is useful for loading more dilute PCR products or samples where high signal intensity is needed. Wider wells are generally easier to hit with a standard pipette tip, reducing the risk of cross-contamination between wells. This comb is designed to fit into the slots of the UV-Transparent (UVTP) GT Gel Trays.
