The Kontes (Kimble) 294750-0075 is a specialized 75 mL 2-neck pear-shaped flask designed for precision microscale and small-scale laboratory work. Its heavy-wall construction and mixed-joint configuration make it a durable and versatile choice for complex reaction setups. 

This flask is uniquely engineered to facilitate efficient sample recovery while allowing for multiple simultaneous functions:

  • Pear-Shaped Geometry: The steep, V-shaped bottom is ideal for rotary evaporation or concentrating samples. It allows for nearly 100% recovery of liquids or solids using a pipette or spatula, which is crucial when working with high-value materials.

  • Heavy-Wall Durability: Built with approximately 30% thicker glass than standard flasks, it offers superior resistance to physical impact and thermal shock. It is also much safer for use under vacuum or low-pressure conditions.

  • Mixed Neck Joints:

    • Center Neck (CN): 14/20 Standard Taper.

    • Side Neck (SN): 10/18 Standard Taper.

    • This "mixed" configuration allows you to use standard 14/20 equipment (like a condenser) in the center while utilizing smaller 10/18 probes or thermometers in the side neck.
