The Wheaton 357546 Dounce Tissue Grinder is a specialized 40 ml laboratory instrument designed for the delicate extraction of cell nuclei and mitochondria. This system uses a borosilicate glass mortar and pestle to homogenize soft tissues through a combination of shearing and compression forces. The "Tight" pestle is specifically engineered for the final stage of homogenization. It features a precision-ground clearance of 0.05 mm ± 0.025 mm (0.0020" ± 0.001"). This extremely narrow gap ruptures cell membranes while preserving sensitive internal organelles like the nuclei and mitochondria. This listing is only for the Tight Pestle.
