The Bixolon (Samsung) SRP-500CG is a unique specialty receipt printer that distinguishes itself by using Inkjet technology rather than the standard Direct Thermal method found in most Point-of-Sale (POS) devices. While it shares the compact form factor and "drop-in" paper loading of a thermal printer, it utilizes liquid ink cartridges (specifically, standard HP inkjet heads) to print on plain bond paper. This distinction is critical because, unlike thermal prints which fade over time or turn completely black when exposed to heat, inkjet prints are permanent and heat-resistant.

This heat resistance makes the SRP-500CG the industry standard for kitchen printing applications. In a hot commercial kitchen, a thermal receipt placed under a heat lamp would instantly turn black and become unreadable. The SRP-500CG avoids this issue entirely. Furthermore, the "CG" designation indicates this model is equipped with an Auto-Cutter (C) and comes in the Dark Gray (G) housing color. It typically supports two-color printing (e.g., Black and Red) if equipped with the appropriate dual-color cartridge, allowing operators to highlight special instructions like "No Onions" or "Allergy" in red for kitchen staff.

Because it is an inkjet printer, it requires different consumables than a standard POS printer. It uses single-ply plain paper rolls (typically 76mm / 3-inch width) rather than chemically treated thermal paper. It also requires the replacement of ink cartridges (typically the HP C6602 series).

Used; great condition.
