The Phenomenex 00F-4167-E0 is a specialized Jupiter C4 HPLC column designed specifically for the reversed-phase separation of large biomolecules, such as proteins and large peptides. As part of the Jupiter 300 line, it is engineered to provide high resolution and recovery for molecules that are too large to be effectively separated on standard small-pore (80–120 Å) columns. 

Core Phase and Particle Specifications

  • Stationary Phase: C4 (Butyl). This relatively low-hydrophobicity phase is ideal for the separation of very hydrophobic proteins that might otherwise bind too strongly to C8 or C18 phases, ensuring better sample recovery and sharper peaks.

  • Pore Size: 300 Å. This wide-pore architecture allows large proteins to fully enter the pore structure, maximizing the available surface area for interaction and preventing size-exclusion effects.

  • Particle Size: 5 µm. This size offers a balanced compromise between high efficiency (backpressure management) and high resolution, making it suitable for both analytical and semi-preparative workflows.

  • Dimensions: 150 x 4.6 mm. A standard analytical column length and ID, providing sufficient plate count for complex separations while maintaining compatibility with most HPLC and UHPLC systems.
