A shaft lock collar set screw collar is a fundamental mechanical component used to secure bearings, sprockets, or pulleys onto a shaft. For an 8 mm ID (Internal Diameter) system, these collars provide a precise fit for standard 8 mm linear rails and motor shafts commonly found in 3D printers, CNC machines, and robotics. These use a single screw that tightens directly against the shaft. While compact and inexpensive, they can leave marks (burrs) on the shaft over time.
