The Chemglass CG-1318-23 Rotary Evaporator Connector is a specialized glass adapter designed to facilitate the direct concentration of samples from chromatography or storage vials without the need for manual transfer to a standard round-bottom flask. This "double-threaded" design serves as a bridge between the rotary evaporator’s vapor tube and small-scale sample containers. One end of the adapter features a standard SJ 24/40 ground glass joint, which fits securely into the drive head of most common rotary evaporators, while the other end consists of a high-performance PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) threaded connector.

The primary technical advantage of this connector is its compatibility with 20-400 GPI threaded vials, which are the industry standard for 20 mL to 40 mL scintillation and sample vials. By utilizing an internal PTFE-faced silicone septa or gasket within the threaded cap, the adapter maintains a vacuum-tight seal, allowing for efficient solvent removal under reduced pressure directly into the vial.
