The VWR 89000-382 is a heavy-duty 250 ml filtering flask designed for vacuum filtration applications in analytical, clinical, and industrial laboratories. Made from borosilicate 3.3 glass, it features significantly thicker walls than a standard Erlenmeyer flask, providing the mechanical strength necessary to safely withstand a internal vacuum of up to 1 atm. The primary feature of this flask is the integrated glass sidearm hose barb, or tubulation, which allows for a secure connection to a vacuum pump or water aspirator. The sidearm on the 250 ml model is sized to accept standard 7.9 mm (5/16") internal diameter vacuum tubing. Its Griffin-style Erlenmeyer shape with a heavy-duty tooled rim ensures durability and a tight seal when used with rubber stoppers. This flask is a staple for solid-liquid separation tasks, such as Buchner funnel filtrations, sample clarification, and microbiological testing.
