The Buchi 041987 is a precision bent hose barb set designed for the secure connection of vacuum and cooling lines to laboratory glass assemblies. It is a standard component for the Buchi Rotavapor series and recirculating chillers, utilizing the GL14 glass thread standard to provide a leak-proof, tool-free pneumatic interface. Rated for continuous operation from -10°C to +100°C, making it suitable for both cryogenic cooling loops (using glycol/water) and heated vacuum distillations. The 90-degree bend is designed to prevent tubing kinks in tight laboratory setups, maintaining a constant internal diameter of 4 mm for unobstructed vapor or fluid flow. This hose barb and cap nut are made from high-grade polypropylene (PP). This polymer is chosen for its excellent chemical resistance to aqueous solutions, alcohols, and many organic solvents, as well as its ability to withstand autoclaving up to 110°C.
