Chemglass M12 Blind Stopper for Bioreactor

The Chemglass Life Sciences M12 Blind Stopper is a critical sealing component designed for the headplates of benchtop and pilot-scale bioreactors (compatible with Applikon® and similar vessel standards). Precision-machined from 316L Stainless Steel with an electropolished finish, this plug is engineered to withstand the harsh environments of bioprocessing, including acidic media contact and repeated high-temperature autoclave cycles.

Its primary function is to hermetically seal any unused M12 threaded ports on the bioreactor headplate. In flexible bioprocess development, not every run requires every available sensor or addition line; for example, if a specific foam sensor or sampling tube is not required for a batch, leaving the port open would compromise sterility. This blind stopper screws directly into the port, compressing an O-ring (typically EPDM or Silicone) seated in a dedicated groove near the threads to create a gas-tight, sterile barrier.
