The Chemglass CG-1042-14 is a specialized laboratory adapter designed to provide a secure, vacuum-tight inlet for thermometers or bleed tubes into a standard taper joint. This is a straight-body adapter focused purely on the inlet port. The #7 thread at the top uses a Celcon compression cap and a Viton O-ring. The chem-thread design allows you to adjust the depth of the thermometer easily by loosening the cap, sliding the probe, and retightening for a leak-proof seal. This adapter is most efficient when used in distillation heads or multi-neck reaction flasks. Simply insert your thermometer through the #7 cap, adjust so the bulb is at the desired depth, and hand-tighten.
