Corning Microplate BioCoat 96 Well Collagen I 40 Plates

The Corning BioCoat 356698 is a specialized 96-well microplate that has been pre-coated with a uniform layer of Collagen Type I. This coating, typically derived from rat tail tendon, provides a biologically active surface that mimics the natural extracellular matrix (ECM) found in vivo.

The primary function of this collagen layer is to significantly enhance cell attachment, spreading, and proliferation. It is particularly valuable for culturing difficult-to-attach cell types, such as primary keratinocytes, hepatocytes, endothelial cells, and muscle cells. By providing a more physiological substrate than standard tissue culture plastic, the plate promotes better cytoskeletal organization and can improve cell-specific protein expression and differentiation.
