The Corning 3548 Microplate is a standard laboratory vessel designed for the cultivation of adherent cells. This plate features a 48-well format (6 x 8 grid), offering a middle-ground solution between high-throughput 96-well plates and larger 24-well formats.

Key Features & Specifications:

Tissue Culture (TC) Treated: The polystyrene surface has undergone a vacuum-gas plasma treatment. This process makes the hydrophobic plastic permanently hydrophilic and negatively charged, which promotes consistent cell attachment, spreading, and growth.

Flat Bottom: The wells feature a flat bottom design, which provides a uniform surface area for cell growth and allows for clear optical visualization under a microscope.

Material: Constructed from crystal-grade virgin polystyrene, ensuring excellent optical clarity for microscopy and absorbance measurements.

Lid Included: The plate comes with a specialized lid that features condensation rings (or a one-way labyrinth design) to reduce evaporation and minimize the risk of cross-contamination between wells.

Sterility: These plates are supplied sterile (usually gamma-irradiated) and are non-pyrogenic.
