The Cytiva SH30897.01 is a highly effective, ready-to-use antifoaming solution designed to optimize gas exchange and prevent overflow in agitated cell culture systems. Formulated with a 3% active simethicone emulsion, it actively lowers fluid surface tension to destroy existing foam and prevent new bubbles from forming during aggressive sparging. Because thick emulsions are notoriously difficult to filter, this product is pre-sterilized via validated gamma-irradiation and packaged in a sealed, single-use bag. Pre-fitted with standardized tubing and luer lock connections, it allows researchers to aseptically hook the antifoam directly into their bioreactor feed lines, completely bypassing the contamination risks associated with manual preparation and in-house autoclaving.
