These devices effectively divide the culture well into two distinct compartments (apical and basolateral), enabling sophisticated study of cell behavior that mimics in vivo conditions.

Membrane Material: They feature a transparent Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) membrane. This material is optically clear, which is a significant advantage as it allows for direct visualization of cells and their morphology under a phase-contrast microscope without the need for staining or dismantling the insert.

Pore Size: The membrane has a specific pore size of 1.0 µm. This intermediate size is ideal for co-culture studies and transport assays involving larger proteins or macromolecules.
