Falcon Serological Pipette 50 with Plug PS Individually Sealed 100 Pipets

The Falcon (Corning) 357550 Serological Pipette is a high-capacity 50 mL liquid handling instrument designed for large-scale tissue culture and media preparation. Manufactured from high-clarity virgin polystyrene, this pipette allows for quick visual verification of fluid volume and quality. It features the industry-standard black color-coding band on the neck and packaging, which enables rapid identification in a busy laboratory setting.

To ensure accuracy and flexibility, the pipette is marked with bold black graduations. Like other pipettes in the Falcon line, it features a dual graduation scale: ascending numbers for dispensing, descending numbers for estimating remaining volume, and negative graduations that extend beyond the zero mark. This "overfill" capacity allows the pipette to hold approximately 60 mL total, which is particularly useful when aliquoting volumes slightly larger than the rated 50 mL. The top of the pipette contains a hydrophobic polyester plug (often cited as a "patented" fibrous plug in Falcon literature) to prevent liquid from being accidentally drawn into the pipette controller, protecting the device from contamination.

These pipettes are supplied sterile and individually wrapped in Falcon’s "Advantage" paper/plastic peel packaging, which minimizes static cling and allows for aseptic opening. The pipettes are certified non-pyrogenic and non-cytotoxic.
