The Kimble KONTES (Part Number 294300-0050) Recovery Flask is a specialized 50 mL laboratory vessel engineered to maximize sample retrieval during rotary evaporation. Unlike standard round-bottom flasks, this unit features a tapered, pear-shaped geometry that allows liquid to pool in a smaller area, making it significantly easier to access the final product with a spatula, pipette, or "policeman" once the solvent has been removed.

Constructed from Type I, Class A Borosilicate Glass (33 expansion), the flask is manufactured with heavy walls to withstand the pressure differentials and mechanical stress typical of vacuum applications. It is equipped with a 14/20 Standard Taper Outer Joint, which is a critical specification to note as it is smaller than the more common 24/40 size found on many larger rotovaps. The joint typically features a square bead finish, providing a robust shoulder for clamping clips to grip securely. This design ensures that the flask remains firmly attached to the vapor tube during rotation, minimizing the risk of accidental slippage or breakage.
