Unlike conventional filter plates that immediately leak when organic solvents are added, the oleophobic membrane in the Impact plate successfully holds aggressive precipitation solvents (like acetonitrile or methanol) above the filter for up to 25 minutes. This allows researchers to perform direct, in-well protein precipitation—combining and mixing the sample and solvent directly inside the plate—completely eliminating the need for offline vortexing and messy sample transfer steps.
