Robbins Scigene Hybridization Incubator with Rotator

The SciGene 400 Hybridization Incubator is a precisely controlled oven designed for efficient and reliable nucleic acid hybridization procedures, such as Northern and Southern blotting. This incubator is known for its exceptional temperature uniformity and stable incubation conditions, which are crucial for optimal hybridization results.   

A key feature of the SciGene 400 is its unique passive heating system. Instead of relying on fans that can create temperature gradients, the incubator utilizes sturdy rubber strips with embedded heating wires surrounding the stainless steel chamber. This design ensures gentle and even heating throughout the chamber. The warm air is then circulated by the movement of the rotator, further contributing to temperature uniformity. A precision controller regulates the temperature to ±0.1°C, and both set and actual temperatures are displayed for easy monitoring.   

The incubator also features a heavy-duty, dual-paned, tempered glass door with a seamless gasket and levered latching system. This design minimizes heat loss and maintains a stable internal environment. The SciGene 400 is compatible with borosilicate glass tubes, which offer resistance to breakage and provide effective radioisotope shielding. The specially designed caps for these tubes, made of durable PBT plastic with an integral silicone o-ring, ensure a reliable and long-lasting seal. The rotator within the incubator is specifically designed to hold tubes tilted and offset from the axle, providing precisely controlled mixing for efficient hybridization
