The Sartorius 5447307G1G-OO Maxicap Filter is a pre-sterilized, high-capacity filter capsule designed for biopharmaceutical and other critical filtration applications. This inline filter utilizes a dual-layer Sartopure 2 XLG PES (polyethersulfone) membrane, combining a 0.8 µm pre-filter layer with a 0.2 µm final filter layer. This dual-layer configuration is designed to maximize throughput and filter life. The 0.8 µm pre-filter removes larger particles, protecting the 0.2 µm sterilizing-grade membrane from premature clogging and extending its service life.

The 0.2 µm final filter layer ensures effective removal of bacteria, yeast, and other microorganisms, making it suitable for sterile filtration of various liquids, including cell culture media, buffers, and pharmaceutical products. The inline configuration, with 1.5-inch sanitary fittings (Tri-Clamp connections) on both the input and output, allows for easy integration into existing sanitary process systems.

The capsule is gamma irradiatable, providing flexibility for sterilization post-installation if required. The filter was pulled for pictures from a sealed package transfer set and the stock for sale has been handled under controlled conditions to maintain sterility prior to being photographed. The inclusion of 1.5-inch sanitary clamps further simplifies installation and connection to process piping. This Sartorius Maxicap filter is designed for large-scale bioprocessing needs, offering high flow rates, efficient particle removal, and reliable sterilization in a convenient, ready-to-use format.
