Whatman Glass Microfiber Filter GF/D 70 mm Sealed 200 Filters

The Whatman 1823070 Glass Microfiber Filter is a specialized filter paper designed for efficient and high-capacity filtration in laboratories. This filter has a diameter of 70 mm and is of Grade GF/D, a specific grade of glass microfiber filter known for its fine particle retention and high loading capacity.

These filters are constructed from 100% borosilicate glass, which is binder-free and chemically inert. The Grade GF/D designation indicates a nominal particle retention of 2.7 µm, making it suitable for pre-filtration of samples prior to a final filtration step. The filter is thicker than Grade GF/A and Grade GF/B filters, giving it a higher wet strength and significantly increased capacity to hold solids. 

The unique capillary structure of the glass microfiber allows it to absorb a larger quantity of water than equivalent cellulose filters, and it can be used at temperatures up to 550°C.
