The Kimble 28400-1502 is a 150 mL Kimax Buchner funnel with a medium porosity fritted disc. This funnel's most important feature is the fritted disc, which is a porous glass filter permanently fused into the base. This eliminates the need for filter paper, which can be a source of contamination or react with harsh chemicals. This makes it a versatile tool for most general filtration tasks where fine precipitates need to be retained but the slow filtration rates of very fine frits are undesirable.
