The Corning 55640-10 Pyrex Low Actinic Volumetric Flask is a 10 mL capacity flask. These flasks are specialized for working with light-sensitive chemicals. The most important feature of this flask is its red-colored "low actinic" glass. This glass is specifically formulated to protect light-sensitive reagents by filtering out light in the ultraviolet (UV) and visible wavelengths up to approximately 500 nm. As a Class A volumetric flask, it is designed and calibrated to hold a precisely known volume of 10 mL at a specified temperature, usually 20 °C.
