Agilent 01018-22707 PTFE Frit for 1290/1260 Infinity Binary Pump and 1200/1100 Series Analytical Pump is a critical, small, porous component used for pre-filtering the solvent stream entering the high-pressure pump head of several Agilent High-Performance Liquid Chromatography systems. Its primary job is pre-filtration. It acts as a final barrier to trap any large particulate matter, dust, or small pieces of seal material that may have passed through the solvent bottle filter or been shed by upstream components. The PTFE frit is a consumable maintenance item. It requires periodic replacement when the pump begins to exhibit erratic flow, elevated pressure, or noisy operation, as these are signs that the frit is becoming partially clogged.
