Unlike the smaller 400-series, the PC-611 features a white glass-ceramic (Pyroceram®) top plate that is exceptionally durable, scratch-resistant, and chemically inert, making it easy to clean if spills occur. The "Heavy Duty" designation refers to its powerful motor and magnet assembly, which can couple strongly with large stir bars (up to 3 inches or more in length) to mix viscous solutions or large volumes at speeds typically ranging from 60 to 1,000+ RPM.
