The Hoefer SUB6-C1.5-8 is a specialized accessory for the Hoefer SUB6 Mini Submarine Gel Electrophoresis Unit. This comb is designed for preparative or low-throughput applications where larger sample volumes are required. This 8-tooth version is the standard choice for routine analytical runs on small 6 x 7.5 cm gels. This is ideal for preparative electrophoresis, and larger sample volumes. In a standard 5 mm deep gel, a 1.5 mm thick well on a SUB6 system typically holds significantly more volume than the standard 1 mm combs (likely upwards of 50–70 µL per well depending on tooth width). The SUB6 unit has two comb slots. Using two of these 8-well combs allows you to run 16 samples per gel.
