Millipore SE1M179M6 Steriflip Disposable Vacuum Filter Unit is a package of single-use, specialized devices designed for the rapid and sterile filtration of biological fluids, buffers, and tissue culture media. The unit consists of a filter funnel attached to a centrifuge tube adapter. A sample is poured into the funnel, and the entire unit is placed onto a standard 50 mL conical centrifuge tube. Vacuum is applied to the adapter, drawing the liquid through the filter membrane and into the sterile receiver tube. Once filtration is complete, the unit is simply flipped upside down and removed, leaving the sterile filtrate ready for use in the sealed tube. The Steriflip is widely used in cell culture and microbiology laboratories for the sterile filtration of tissue culture media, serum, and protein solutions.
